In this fairly recent debate over What is Cinema that keeps slogging along as if there will be no resolution, Martin Scorsese has been at the forefront of the feud, soundly rejecting franchise films as not being cinema and nothing more than theme park rides. But what if Martin Scorsese lived in a parallel universe (kind of like Marvel Comics is fond of doing) where he made several film franchises? What would that oeuvre look like?
